Peace Lilly Help

Is this peace lily savable? Any suggestions on how to save it? I have had it for about 2 1/2 years and it did well but about 9 months ago started to brown and die, I thought it could be root rot, I read an article and watched some videos that said to take it out of the pot clean the roots with alcohol, so I did and repotted it in a different pot and it just got worse. It appears to have new growth and I have a new pot and soil to repot if needed. Please help!!

Hi and welcome to the forum
I can see the small amount of new growth on your Spathiphyllum but frankly, I wouldn't bother potting it up as it is the offspring of a very sick plant. Once a plant gets to that stage, the only thing to do is bin it and get a new one. Don't reuse the pot until it has been very thoroughly washed. It's very easy to get attached to a plant but sometimes you just have to be brutal.

Cleaning the roots with alcohol sounds like a terrible idea. I think if it does recover it would be a slow and ugly process, so unless you have an out of the way spot for it in the mean time, I would start again.

Yes, I agree the alcohol is probably a good part of the problem unfortunately. 😕  I would call time on that one and start again with a new specimen.  They do not like direct sunlight, in my experience, or to be near radiators, etc.  A coolish, shady spot suits.
