I'd say yours was in far too big a pot @Herbloom. It might be worth taking a look at it soon and repotting into something more suitable, or getting it planted out, depending on your conditions and climate.
I'm thinking about it. It just gets very tall, so I need something big/heavy enough to counterbalance it. But I'll have a closer look, thank you! (Can't put it in the ground just yet)

Despite their blousy appearance, they're really quite tough plants Once it's established in it's pot @kate.james58, you can then plant it out at any time, avoiding bad weather - ice/frost etc, but it's probably best to plant in spring or summer to allow good establishment before the next winter comes in. You could plant it this year if you have the site ready for it. It'll take a bit longer to get settled as it's unlikely to have the root system established and growing much, but otherwise it should be ok.
They can take a while to settle after moving, but that's only when digging up and moving from a position in the ground
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
