  @Fire - couple more that my partner took. The one up close is an odd angle, will try and take a better photo tomorrow. 
  
  @hostafan1 I did wonder if it might be a fruit tree. The gentleman we bought from had lived there 60 years and there is a large veg and soft fruit patch

  From that second photo I'd identify your tree as a telephone pole.
