    Rain running off and becoming everyone else's problem is exactly why we need more areas that aren't paved in our front gardens. A few pockets of planting would allow room to park a car as well as making the front look nicer, provide shade and habitat and absorb a portion of the rain. Gravel or bark can go under the small trees or shrubs to keep weeds down.

    With No 1 you could put in a fancy water butt. Lots on the internet. With No 3 you could plants roses (I like roses). I agree with the above comments about sorting out the paved area.The rest of your ideas sound fine to me.
