Training Parthenocissus henryana
in Plants
I have just purchased two Parthenocissus henryana to grow on my garage wall.
I have grown it before and did nothing to help it fix to the wall.
I know it will take two years to root at first. However I am wondering what to do with the very long stem that is the length of the cane. I understand that it is the new growth that fixes. Is there any advantage to pegging it down to root along it's length?
I had wondered about some tension wires low down to give it a start but is this really necessary for this particular plant? I also have concerns that the bricks are smooth. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
