Fig root reassurance
I have dug out my fig tree, planted about 3 years ago, as the caterpillar issue had become insurmountable. It had quite substantial roots, which have taken a lot of effort to dig out or sever. My question is - is there any danger of anything growing back from any root left in the ground? I have a rose I want to plant in the now-vacant spot, and I'd really like not to have to dig that out in future to have another go at the fig...
