I was given some calendula seeds late last summer and sowed a few around September. I went into my cold frame yesterday and saw one of the plants has flowered. I wasn't planning on planting anything out until spring. Will this flower again?
Calendula do repeat flower after deadheading so they should be good for the spring. They are hardy annuals and can handle low temperatures, perhaps they have been a bit warm in the cold frame.
We often have a randomly flowering calendula in our garden through every month of the year. They seem to still flower when they should but die off a little earlier than the normally flowering ones. All ours are self seeded.
