Himalayas honeysuckle

The neighbour planted one Bush last year and its flowered and over grown the whole garden it comes my side and I am unformiliar with the plan it's 6 foot now how do I prune it and when is the best time to cut it back she's not in trouble it's gone a bit wild as we call it  if you can help I would appreciate some advice from joanna palmer

    I have pruned them back to the base in spring and they still flowered that year. The one we have is still flowering now. You can also remove any excess growth at anytime without doing any damage ime.

    I agree with @thevictorian . In my experience they will put up with anything. You can cut them to the base completely, cut some to the base, or shorten branches. I found it grew much more vigorously, and much wider, when I cut I right back so now I just cut a few bits back to the base and shorten the rest.
