Mimosa Pudica dropping leaves

Hello, I have had a Mimosa Pudica for the last 2 years, and repotted it in August. It was kept on a sunny windowsill beside other houseplants and two weeks ago I noticed it had dropped a lot of it's leaves. Upon initial research I seemed my problem had stemmed from over watering so to follow internet advice i placed it in a spot by a radiator out of direct sunlight. Its soil has seamed to dry out (still a bit moist) but the leaves have continued to drop and are unresponsive to touch. This hasn't happened before and internet advice doesn't seem to be helping.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

This has a bit about overwatering and also suggests that the plant is not expected to last more than a couple of years. https://www.ukhouseplants.com/plants/sensitive-plant-touch-me-not-plant-mimosa-pudica I grew some a few years back and they didn't last long.

It might be time to think about growing a new one this summer.

Thank you very much, Ceres, I had not seen this page. I didn't realise it's was biannual so will look to growing another soon and learn from my mistakes.

I've seen them growing wild at the roadside in very dusty soil in India, which suggests they like it dry.
