what to plant?

  Hi, and welcome to the forum.
  

  With young trees it isn't a good idea to plant anything right underneath them. Your araucaria will need a circle of bare soil around its base so that it doesn't have any competition for nutrients and space.

  Ahh thanks.. I'll maybe do some pots instead. Just wanted to jazz my front bit of lawn up, only got a bird feeder and the puzzle init!! 🤔🙂

  Welcome to the forums.
  I do hope you have planted your Araucaria araucaria....common name monkey puzzle well away from your house.
  Over time they grow huge and shed the old bottom branches.
  Pics below are ones found in other peoples gardens.

  edsalvatore0201876 Welcome to these forums which are based in the cold, frosty UK.
  I have the feeling from the plants you suggest that you live some where hot and tropical.
  Areca palm or china palm would only survive here in a greenhouse.
