Help please!

Hello all,

I hope you are well.

I have a univerity project in which I have to solve a solution or redeisgn a product in order to enhance it in the field of gardening (Could be both indoor or outdoors). I was hoping to gain ideas and concepts to gain inspiration and make concepts and solving the problems for gardeners.

Thank you.

Could you design something that persuades snails to leave pretty flowers alone?! An invention like that would be welcomed by most gardeners I am sure.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

Anything that could deter cats would make you a mint of money 😊

A failsafe device to keep cats within their owners' own gardens, so saving millions of creatures lives and supporting respect within the neighbourhood.
  • Perhaps you could design something that would write a more specific thread title, and then a more specific question or request?
  • @StephenSouthwest Thank you for your comment, Apolgies for any misunderstanding, the purpose of this was to act as primary research to see the vast majorties of problems and then after evaluating and further researching each point I would then go into the  specifics.

The purpose of this was to gain primary research in order to find issues so i can solve real world issues rather than solving issue that not many people face in indoor or outdoor gardening.

Slugs and snails are always in the top 10 of garden pests, as are vine weevil. Lots and lots of ideas for barriers,  poisons etc. Scope for research here?

How about a reasonably-priced but nice and solid flat-pack compost bin (square shaped not the daft round/cone "dalek" ones) without gaps in the sides (they light  and air in so the compost dries out and weeds grow), and where the whole front opens up for emptying/turning? Not everyone has the skills to build one from wood (and it's expensive these days) and many people will prefer to buy one, but most of the ones available these days just have a tiny hatch at the base that you're supposed to get the compost out of, and it doesn't really work. I have two very old ones that are as I describe but they don't seem to be available any more.

I’d buy one of those @JennyJ … or even two if they weren’t expensive.  They could be made from recycled pallets or similar. The design you describe is just what’s needed and they seem unavailable in the garden centres or online.
