A few shots from RHS Wisley from today's visit

I thought I'd post them...as usual lovely plants in the alpine greenhouse and interesting to see them adding quite a few new conifers around preexisting beds near the lake. Wonder if it's in response to climate change and the need for more resilient plants.

Fun how they tied up the dogwoods to make a decorative feature and the little rest area surrounded by branch cuttings to attract wildlife.

Also made into the old lab for the first time...nice if a tad lifeless.

Thank you, lovely photos. Looks as though it was a nice day, beautiful blue sky.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • I'm jealous of the daffodils in bloom, we won't see anything like that until late April or early May.  Same with the green grass!  I love the idea of the circular hedges - I have a massive amount of brush to cut this spring, I may try something like that.
    New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury
  • It really was nice and without much wind @Busy-Lizzie
Was quite surprised by those daffodils being out already @CrankyYankee the ones in my garden haven't showed up above ground as yet!

Thanks for the photos @amancalledgeorge, love RHS Wisely as there is always interest whatever the season. We haven't been much lately because of the roadworks but plan to go when the crocus beds are out towards the end of February.
  • It's really worth revisiting @scroggin especially nice around the old trials area that they've converted to a reservoir lake with some nice gazebos that come handy for a picnic 😉 just a shame seeing that monstrous over engineered bypass bridge as you come out of Wisley. But hey progress and all that jazz. I really have to return to Painshill before we hopefully leave London, such a lovely landscape and would like to see it in the spring this time.
