Grow Lights

Looking for some advice from anyone who has experience,  good or bad of using LED grow lights in their greenhouse.  I've noticed quite a lot being advertised recently particularly on Amazon. Some are conventional style bulbs that either screw or plug in ( ES or GU10 etc) others are small panels 8" x 4" and then there's thin strips with some having variable light outputs, timers etc. Interestingly there's very little information as to how many you would need for a particular area or how far from the plants they need to be, how long they need to be on and when. I'd be very grateful to hear from anyone with knowledge or experience and if they have actually made a difference.

I have a sun blaster strip light I use it above a propagator. It does make a difference.  Garden Which did a review recently   that particular, unit didn't come out that well in their tests but I  find it a good compromise between cost and performance.

I’d go to my local grow your own herbal products hydroponics shop if I were you. There you’ll meet someone with many piercings and tattoos who has forgotten more about grow lights than most of us will ever know. Describe what you want and he’ll be very happy to sell you the lights that you need. Remember you’ll need a timer as well.
If you want to give him a laugh tell him you were looking on Amazon. The guy I went to thought that was hilarious.
