Planted star jasmine in nov last year, leaves have spots

Star Jasmine | Trachelospermum jasminoides.

These spots and marks don’t seem normal, any advice?

Looks normal to me for the time of year.
TJ isn't hardy throughout the UK, but if your climate suits it it should be fine.
The colour of some leaves will change in winter, sometimes even turning red, but that's also normal.
Some of the older leaves will get a bit tatty, but in late spring there will be plenty of new leaves. Then some of the older leaves that are no longer doing their job properly will be dropped in favour of the new leaves.

Could it be caused by leaf miner? I doubt it is a long term problem?

I think it's as @Pete.8 says. Mine were always spotty and often went red in winter then it grew lovely new leaves in spring. They don't like the cold weather. I left mine behind when I moved house, but a friend gave me a young one as a house warming present.

  • Thanks everyone. I’m based in Hertfordshire so hopefully warm enough conditions for it to do well.

Is there any recommended treatment or care i should provide to help it along?

I give mine a feed of organic fertiliser in spring and water it when the weather is warm and dry.

A good mulch of rotted manure in the Spring will give it a good start and provide feed for the coming season.
I've found them quite trouble free.
The only problems I've had is if I've let them dry out during summer.
When that happens they always seems to get a scale insect infestation, but doesn't last long when they revive.
They generally only flower well in a sunny aspect.
