Scroll down the page to the second and third photos , look pretty close. Ilex Silver van Tol. Although yours looks whiter? There could be a small allowance made for image and screen colours. The variegation pattern looks close. And more creamy than white but not yellow.
Although...is that a holly? Trying to think what else could be that large and evergreen . Can you do a close up of bark and are there any berries? Or any close up shots of an area that might have had berries? Cut off a little representative piece and photograph it from the top. Are those yellowy coloured leaf shoots, the really long ones near the base.
I've taken a few more images - bark, creamy leaf & yellowy new leaves coming up on branches. No sign of berries or berry life. It's about 10ft high and 12ft across. Ignore Any ideas appreciated. Ignore the holly holly looking holly in the images because that's a separate tree behind.
Look at image number two it looks much whiter there more like yours. Also your new image of leaves those are huge, and in the above link they say the leaves can be four inches, so maybe.
I hope someone can help and recognize it for you. I have no idea what the bark should look like but it is a really good photo too.
If you are pruning the tree then I would remove the plain green shoots.
The first picture in your second post looks very much like the variegated Vinca major, hoisting itself up into a shrub. I think the second picture in that post is the leaves of the shrub itself, but I don't know what it is. It looks euonymus-ish to me - maybe something like this one - but I'm not at all sure.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Perhaps the neighbour is right and it is a verigated holly. I have no idea really but I don't think it's Ilex altaclerensis. Also, I don't think Euonymus japonicus , because it seems too big and tree like.
Some euonymus varieties can get big if you let them, but are often kept clipped because they respond well to it. I have a yellow-and-green one (variety unknown) that's around 10 feet tall at the moment (I let it grow above the height of the fence for privacy purposes).

Thanks Jenny, maybe that's right then. It belongs to another neighbour and is overhanging alot. I don't think it's been touched for twenty odd years! I guess I'll just cut the overhanging branches off. Is it best to wait for early spring?

I wonder now if it might be one of the Ilex altaclerensis, like Golden King ( which is actually female
