Religion

As we have been asked to refrain from political discussions, I think it is only reasonable that we should ban all talk of religion on the forum. This is at least as divisive as politics and its discussion deeply upsets many forumites.

If we ban religion is it ok to talk about money? Or sex? They were both considered taboo subjects if you wanted a successful dinner party according to my mom ( who never hosted a dinner party in her life) I think she read it somewhere.

Doesn't everything become political in the end? All the things that concern me can be classed as political. The fact that we have religion can be seen as political...housing is political...what we get paid is political...who gets jobs is political...what we can see on the TV is political....how our refuse is collected is political...how sewage enters our water ways is political...how we trade with other nations is political...AI is political....our health is political....our energy is political...

Life is political - just ignoring it doesn't make it go away.

My mother said that too, @debs64, and she did host dinner parties.

It depends on the religion @Hostafan1. Mine, whether true or not, teaches kindness, forgiveness and tolererance.

If one were to say "I did some gardening after going to church this morning" or "I helped at the church summer fair" would that be talking about religion @punkdoc?

I think all this could have been avoided if the mods had been honest about things. Things were censored because they criticised I***l, and its ongoing treatment of P**********s  in the W**t B**k. The mods should just have stated that no criticism of I****l would be allowed.
Politics had been discussed on here without any problems before.
