Somewhat surprised at your post, @Fire, you are always complaining about the lack of moderation.
I suppose the general chat threads will be next.
Good job most of us like gardening.

What happens if we report this thread as political? Asking for a friend... :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

What about the decluttering thread? And there's a thread about an insurance claim.
They're not gardening related. I demand they're shut down too.

I think that this will become a soulless place, that I will be far less likely to visit. If I can’t have a bit of banter, can I be bothered. Much more likely to spend more time on Instagram.

But the discussions about politics weren’t banter … it’s far too serious for that.  There’s plenty of banter possible … just not on such very deeply emotive subjects where folk can feel very vulnerable.

If you feel strongly about the subject, and your principles are such that you feel you can no longer participate on the forum, then so be it.

@Fire and @Dovefromabove both make valid points. If the mods decide that decluttering, crafts, curmudgeonly feelings and reasons to be cheerful are also unsuitable subjects then that's up to them. Heaven knows there are enough places on the Internet to engage in that sort of thing if necessary.
