New ideas for a new year

Hi everyone,

So after the last 3 years when I have been called away from my terrace every summer for some family emergency or another… this year with no one left to go running to the aid of, I have decided a “rethink” of my terrace is in order.

Idea/decisions so far:
Not doing window boxes as they are a lot of work for watering and maintenance
Want to keep all my planters on legs
Want to keep my hydrangeas in their tall pots
Getting rid of the last of the sad conifers

Im thinking I want less annuals, but have to admit I love nurturing them from seed so may struggle with that.

Do any of you have new plans for this year?

Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

  • With climate change kicking in I was seriously thinking of introducing many more dry condition plants. Now I am in a quandry because this winter so far my garden has almost been washed away by rain which means dry condition plants would not survive.
I am not sure what to do now,

I know what you mean Joyce my hubby wanted to do a bunch of succulents but seeing how soggy the soil in the planters is, regardless of good drainage, I’m glad we have not done it yet.
