Late bulb planting?

Greetings and a happy new year to all!

Well, I've just realised that I forgot to plant all the bulbs I bought back in the autumn (dwarf daffs, grape hyacinth predominantly). As a complete beginner, is it absolutely too late at this stage? Are the bulbs wasted? I've noticed that quite a few of them have put out green shoots at this stage, a bit of a disaster.

I'm in Dublin, weather has been ridiculously mild this season, hardly any frost. 6-10 degrees the last weeks with buckets of rain.

Thanks so much.

I did exactly the same and planted on Monday into pots I would say it’s worth a go. You won’t lose anything and may get some flowers.
  • I am always pleasantly surprised by how late you can plant bulbs nowadays. So much so that I always wait until mid-December and get some really good deals. I don't know if it's climate change, varieties or where we live (East Kent), but they tend to all come up. Stick them in.

They will be fine. It's happened to most of us and just tends to delay the flowering a little.
  • Wonderful, thanks so much for the advice!
