Unhappy Calathea

Does anyone know how I can help my Calathea?!  Have had it for approx 4 years, it is now over 1.4m high and continues to produce new leaves regularly.  It has grown more than 50cm in two years!  However, as you can see, alot of the leaves are now damaged. They are brown and papery, almost translucent along the edges of the leaf and also curled.  I only use rain water or bottled spring water, spritz a couple of times a week.  Feed in Spring and Summer.  Positioned in a light room but out of direct sunlight.  No sign of bugs or mites.  Any suggestions warmly welcomed! 🤗

Has anything changed recently? Normally the transition to winter can be hard on them when the heating goes on and the air is suddenly hotter and drier. Regular misting would be my only suggestion given you've had it such a long time.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Thankyou Wild Edges!  I will keep on misting.  Should I trim off the brown edges?

At four years old or more, if it hasn't previously lost leaves it could be just the older ones dying off naturally. Keep misting it frequently, and make sure the plant isn't near a hot radiator or cold window or any kind of draught.
Trimming off the brown edges won't make any difference to the health of the plant but you can do it if you think it looks better.
