Salvia Amistad

Festive greetings to you all.

I have taken some cuttings of my salvia amistad and a couple of fushias and they have taken well but what do i do now??  Cut them back and overwinter them??

  • I have cuttings on a window sill in an unheated bedroom and they do fine.  As yours are used to being inside, I would keep them in a light, cool spot.  Outside in a cold frame will be too much of a shock for them.   Come April (or later if you are not in south east England), gradually acclimatise them to being outside.

Both salvias and fuchsias are pretty easy going, so you have chosen well. 🙂
  • I would leave them like that until spring and then pinch the tops out to get them to grow nice a bushy.
