Plant porn

Its that time of year again. All those lovely catalogues offering hope  or disappointment for next year.  I've been perusing Farmer Gracy website, I see they have some giant Hostas, T rex and Jurassic park. Has anyone grown these? @Hostafan1  Will they be a suitable replacement for that gunnera I always wanted, or should  just stick to dahlias?

You could always grow rhubarb and plant dwarf things near it @fidgetbones

Rheum Palmatum Atrosanguineum is probably the best alterative to the Gunnera or Darmera Peltata  . Could try Butterbur if your brave enough and struggle with hostas .

I'd be curious myself how hosta T rex performs and how attractive it is to slugs .

I still rather have the Gunnera.

I'm puzzled by this discussion title... any relation to pornography?

It's like cookery porn. You study the books but never cook anything. Think of it like girlie magazines but for plants @Papi Jo

I really like Darmera. Astilboides tabularis would also be on my list.

Astilboides looks a fine plant @Loxley I'll keep an eye out for that looks very nice.

    I succumbed.
I've never grown caladium from bulbs so I got three assorted cheaper ones, even though I fancied the new colocasia  Pharaohs mask and  Redemption but at nearly £40 a bulb, perhaps not this year.  I have got a hosta t rex to go by the pond. Now we no longer get visited by the deer, it should stand a fighting chance.

Guilty as charged. I got a 50 euros voucher to spend on a gardening website, so I am going to be scrolling gardening porn all afternoon. 😁
