Help! Lawn dies every autumn/winter

Hi, Our garden was landscaped in 2020 and we had turf laid. Every winter it thins out considerably (back to mud in some areas) and I find myself reseeding in the spring. If it is an evergreen backdrop you want, I agree with @Topbird re gravel. The bricks would keep it contained and you could grow some ground-covering evergreens through it and maybe have a water feature in the middle. 🙂
