Eager to learn

We have just moved into a home where the loganberry bush has been neglected. I would love to tidy the bush up a little but, being December, will it harm the bush to just tidy the straggled remains of last year, then prune nicely in springtime?
Thankyou.

Loganberries are pruned after fruiting has finished. So if you prune now you would probably lose next year's crop of delicious berries. If you can distinguish between the old canes (usually darker in colour and woody) and the newer lighter coloured ones, then by all means remove them now. Otherwise leave the bush alone until next mid summer time.
