Do barn owls really snore?

I'm reading that barn owls snore - but is this in the traditional sense: air making noises while going in and out when fully asleep? The Daily Heil says they also suffer from sleep apnoea.

The hazel dormice and some hummingbirds snore, although is rather a harsh word of it. Hedgehogs are known for snoring loudly. Quite nuts for animals that could be dinner in a heartbeat.

    Baby barn owls snore. When I still lived in the home I was brought up in on a farm the neighbours in an old farm cottage had an owl nesting in a hole under the roof between beams. There was a snoring noise from the nest when the parents went hunting leaving the sleeping babies.
