Geranium question 🙋

Hello. Will geranium buds that did not open outside due to the cold open now I have brought the pot inside? I really want to preserve this geranium however I did not bring it in soon enough. Last night was frost but it's still seems to be alive. Will it flower inside?

I think so too. Some of mine are in flower now on the windowsills. It looks like it’s in a conservatory, so it should get sufficient light and warmth to flower. Is it Santa Maria Centennial?

I agree 😃 An occasional few drops of Baby Bio in the water and it’ll flower all winter. 😃

Unfortunately not a conservatory but kitchen worktop and too big for the window sill. I'll have to move it again but don't know where.
It's called stars and stripes and here it is in flower in one of my hanging baskets in August. I bought a few unusual geraniums this year but this was my favourite!
  • Thank you all for your replies. I have seven other pots of geraniums that I wanted to save but no room in the house. I will put them in the semi covered plastic greenhouse and hope they survive. It will be cold though as it's outside and they won't get much light as it's in a car port 😢
  • Can you get hold of any polystyrene packing?  Pack that thickly around the pots in the plastic greenhouse and don’t water them. Take some cuttings first.

Cross your fingers and we’ll do the same 🤞

  • And time to start calling them pelargoniums 😉 they are so worth keeping going. Sometimes the commercial varieties found as basket fillers can be stunning.

I don't have polystyrene but I have just found this roll of foil insulation in my car port, will that work? And if so should I cut it and put it around each pot or put it in the walls of the plastic greenhouse? Which will of course prevent what little light coming in! I'm not sure what this was used for, possibly flooring. Thank you for 🤞
