Cuttings, how to survive over winter?

I have a few Hydrangea and Penstemon cuttings that I potted up several weeks back. How do I get them to survive through the winter please? Do I have to water them at all or just leave them alone? They are currently in an unheated conservatory. I would especially love the Hydrangeas to survive as they were cuttings taken whilst on a special holiday. T i a.

my cuttings are in an unheated GH. I give them a spot of water during milder spells. A conservatory is warmer than a GH so you may need to do that more often, but not too much at a time
