I was with Scottish power, not with a smart meter, have had economy 7 for 50 years. Bloke put in our night and day reading the wrong way round! It took them ......are you sitting down NINE months to sort out! After 3 I said I had had enough was changing supplies, they froze my account so I couldn't! I went to Extra,they went bust. I got put back to Scottish power,they took THREE MONTHS to give me an account number! Course every time you ring...please say or key in your account number!!! Now with octopus
Can sympathise @Nanny Beach re readings being wrong way round. That happened to me with npower many years ago. Nightmare to get it sorted, took many months. This was in the days before smartphones etc so had to take a photo with old-fashioned film, get it developed, post it to them. Made absolutely no difference they still had the readings wrong for what seemed like forever. Every time the meter reader came I thought it would get sorted but no.
Eventually changed to another dismal company then tried M&S Energy who were fab, with Octopus these days, happy so far!
I sent pictures,they sent out a meter reader, abusive bloke who came on the wrong day, but none of that worked. They kept ringing me saying I ought to have smart meters. I said I had had enough meter problems over the years, wasn't interested! Then they told me that I was at risk of my meter catching fire (it had been replaced by EDF to a digital meter not that many years before. I told her I had read countless on the smart ones had actually caught fire. She was "um er, well yes, there has been some issues". We had to have them last year, because we have solar. In the summer, I got emails from octopus saying our gas meter didn't appear to be working...it wasn't registering gas usage! Der, that's because the boiler was off, I cook with electricity and have solar!!
