I do wonder if it is wise to suggest to gardeners to plant bulb lasagne's. Somehow they never seem to work very well with flowers that have gone over mixed with those just imerging. I am sure a TV gardener was suggesting the idea only the other day.
So true. Straggly browning leaves do nothing to enhance emerging late blooms.
I think this might also be a problem with mixed collections of bulbs, the sort that sellers illustrate with beautiful photos of all of them blooming at the same time. Late daffodils with muscari, early daffodils with tulips. It's never going to look like the photos.
Sorry for the late response, (Winter bug). Yes, the pots are identical and
the planting is as well in terms of bulb variety and planting depth. It was a Lasagne
attempt! and I did plenty of YouTube research first as one does. But the observation made by Rubytoo regarding location, wind and
temperatures could be the reason why one pot has totally sprouted whilst the second one
has not at all?
I think it may be the Muscari which is at the top
just under the Crocus and next to the Iris. I have never tried this method of
planting before which I why I didn't go wild and just stuck to two reasonably
sized planters. The second pot is the one under the black plastic bin liner in
the photo, I guess I didn't bother exposing the compost to show you, but there
is nothing there yet for sure.
I will let you know how things pan out, and
hopefully as JennyJ suggests, the shoots will go dormant when the temperature
drops and maybe the others will catch up at the appropriate time!
My muscari started growing around August time, very inconvenient actually! 😂 They made my display messy.
I guess I have passed that point in terms of the time of year and planting, but I do accept that such an outcome may be still the case for me too. You live and learn I guess, and what ever the results are, if there are some flowers then I'll take that for sure

Thank you so much all of you.
