Balcony - what can I do?

Hi there,
Hoping someone can help. So I’ve got a balcony that after laying the tiles on, there are gaps that I want to cover with white pebbles. However, there is a gap in the balcony (in photo, mind the mess) that I don’t want to cover as water runs through it. Instead, I would like to put something in the gap that leaves space underneath it (like the tiles) to have the water freely flow through, and have the pebbles on top of it.

What I’m struggling with is trying to find that thing I can put the pebbles on as the space is a bit awkward. Any recommendations at all will be helpful thank you for reading.

Turned upside down, would this work?

You could then pour the pebbles on top of it.

What is the width and depth of the concrete channel?

  • If you put the white pebbles in the channel, the water would still run round them.  You'd have a cool water feature. 😁

If you put the pebbles on something over the channel, it would need drainage holes or else it will accumulate water and overflow.

It looks like the channel was designed to fit an Aco drain. You can get then with nice stainless steel covers.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
