Pruning Advice - White Birch Tree

Hi, I will be planting these two white birch trees soon and was wondering how best to prune to encourage branching? Should I snip the leader or will that affect the natural uniformity of the tree?

If you want to remove any of the lower branches, you should do so before mid-winter, because otherwise the trees will bleed a lot of sap, which will weaken them.
