Planting Jasmine in November

Hello!

Garden centre has Star Jasmine in 2L pots, and I would like a couple to help cover up some ugly fence, and to act as a backdrop to some other planting. From RHS/GW I see that the season to plant these is over (I think). Would it be safe to plant these out this late in the year, as I would like a good head start when the spring comes.

Thank you!

The soil is still warm, so I would go ahead.
  • Thank you!  :)
  • @nickoslesteros I think I would be cautious if you live in the Midlands or further north. My friends plant was completly blackened by frost last winter. It did recover but slowly.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

If you are buying at Gordale, as mentioned in one of your previous notes, ask the staff in the plant area first. They know the suppliers, how the plants have been grown and whether they are tough enough to plant out locally now. The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful and will give you honest advice. Plus there’s a plant guarantee.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

  • Superb advice. I'll do that tomorrow.
