Over winter geranium ?

Hi just before the storms came I thought I put geranium in mini green house for winter but it was too big so I put it in the spare room and pruned off all the soggy dead bits. There were no blooms left. Today I have blooms so what do I do? It's supposed to be going dormant? Do I water it? Or as bits die off just keep pruning? Any advice?

I'd keep it on the windowsill and enjoy it! They can keep going all year if they don't get cold, on a sunny windowsill or heated conservatory https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/pelargonium .

  • Yes, it will flower indoors over winter.  It doesn't mind not having a rest.  Impatiens will do the same too. 🙂

I give mine the occasional dose of Baby Bio and it flowers on and off all winter on the kitchen windowsill … then I cut it back and take cuttings in the spring. 😊
