Id for fungi

There are couple of patches of these in the garden. Anyone put a name to them?
Clumps are about 12 inches tall.
TIA

They are a bit too mature for an easy I.D. but I suspect it might be honey fungus. It can be very variable in appearance making the task harder. You could try taking a spore print to help with I.D. - pick a clean youngish cap and leave it gills down on a piece of paper overnight.
  • @steephill Will the spore print help with the ID please?

Yes, spore prints can be very useful. This useful article explains why and how to do it - https://www.first-nature.com/fungi/~sporeprint.php

Distinctly looking like Honey Fungus. after looking at the RHS.
  • @steephill I remember doing spore prints as part of my O'Level good fun the shed was full of jam jars and bits of paper. The patterns are beautiful. Is it possible to actually ID Honey fungus from the spores?
