Hollyhocks being eaten by something

I've ended up with a group of hollyhock seedlings that I've bought indoors due to the weather (no greenhouse) and a small no of them appear to being munched by something. I've looked for snails and caterpillars but can't see what's doing it. I've moved the effected ones away from the healthy ones. Should I just pop these out the garden and see if they survive or a treatment to get free of the culprit?

  • It will be a slug, maybe a very tiny one. They are very good at hiding so check the pots inside and out to see if you can spot one.
Something I found out by accident is that they love  the smell of damp broad bean seeds. I got 2 big ones that I didn't even know were there on my peppers when I left my beans in a tray to chit next to them!
  • Have had a good look through and couldn't find a thing- will keep them away from the healthy ones and see if I can spot it. Thank you
