Plant ID please

Could anyone ID this flowered plant please.  I took the photo in August this year so it's summer flowering. Thank you in advance.

Pretty but it's real thug in my garden.
Had to get rid of it sadly as it was suckering over a really wide area

I agree with @Pete.8 - yes it's a real stunner but it can soon get out of hand. This is one of the newer plants in Sheffield Botanical Gardens and it's already on it's way to Rotherham.

A lovley plant and not invasive here, so your conditions would dictate how well it grows or spreads.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's not badly invasive here either, but it does spread. I suppose what's invasive in some conditions, or for gardeners who like to keep everything confined to a particular space, is just a "good do-er" in more difficult conditions or for more laid-back gardeners.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
