We inherited ours when we move here 7 years ago. It is as high as our 2 storey house and about 10metres wide. I've lifted the crown to improve its shape and allow light below.
There are others in the village which are taller and wider. Definitely not a pot plant except maybe when still small and needing shelter. Either way, it needs to be outside whilsts temperatures at night are above say 10C now and then 5C when it's a bit older and stronger.
I move all my housplants outside for summer once night time temps are reliably 10C - some like the ficus elastica and benjamina and a fern go in shade from direct sun but still get plenty of light. Others such as tender scented pelargoniums, bird of paradise, hibiscus siniensis and so on go in semi shade or full sun dependin on their needs.
You need to give a plant what it needs to thrive. Albizzias like full sun.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Thank you so much for the information & will take note on this once the weather warms up again
I tried to grow this near wisley in Surrey for a about 8 years then moved to Wiltshire that finish it off. Some years it grew quite well reaching about 6ft then the winter came and it would die down but by the next summer you would see signs of growth by September it would be like yours unless you live London and have a sheltered garden you will be always be struggling with it.

Thanks for the advice & will see how it goes over the next few months
I've got one in a larger (not huge) pot and it stays outside all year around (I'm in Sompting, just along the coast from you). If the forecast is for colder than normal, we will put it under the car port. We are planning on planting it out next year because it's never done very much and we want to give it a chance to grow properly. Ours is losing it's foliage now which seems to be the norm, it does come back again in the Spring.

Thank you so much for your advice, that is really helpful. It’s looking really sorry for itself right now & it’s good to hear that it will hopefully grow new growth next year 😁
There's a large 3m specimen growing out the front of a well known Landscape Architects house in Penshurst, Kent in a very exposed position. It gets really cold there, easily down to -8 or more during cold spells. Every year i think the thing has died as its so late coming into leaf (late may/ early June, i think?!) and every year it proves me wrong by putting on a magnificent display.
