A centipede visiting one of the spruces in our community garden space

I've not seen a centipede anywhere for a very long time. Is it particularly the norm for them to explore spruces?

Never seen one in a tree!  But I find hundreds very similar to this one when I'm clearing my leaf mould. Hardly see them anywhere else in the garden.

I wonder if it was dropped by a bird?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's possible, as there is a bird table just out of shot of the picture taken.
