Which low height house plants for my plant stand?

  • @Ergates yes I have had them before. I may have to get another for this spot. Wasn't giving me much joy to look at.... I really want to like and love plants otherwise why bother, and you find yourself not putting in enough care when they need it. Perhaps I should give it another go. Thank you for the idea.

    I find myself circling back to my first suggestion of trailing tradescantias . I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • I agree with  @JennyJ re the tradescantia - an easy plant to look after and to propagate too.  I have T pallida  "Purple Heart " Purple slightly "furry leaves and It does have flowers - not huge but noticeable enough.
    In the situation you describe, you may have to be prepared to move plants around at different times of year.
