Chiltern Seeds - another company with similar name

I was looking for Chiltern Seeds' website a couple of days ago and came across the website of a company with a similar name - Chiltern Seeds Direct. I contacted Chiltern Seeds (the original) and they confirmed that this relatively new company is not related to them and it has caused a lot of confusion.

So, just a note to caution to anyone who is thinking of ordering from the Chiltern Seeds website for the 1st time or recommending them to others - do make sure that you have the correct website.

I have Chilterns bookmarked, so that solves any problem.
That's probably the best idea for anyone using online purchasing.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ouch that's unfortunate...presumably Chiltern don't have a legal department to go after them. It would probably stand in court as being too close to an established business name. But chancers will take a punt.

  • @amancalledgeorge yes, I assume they don't have the time or energy to pursue this which must be really annoying for them and potentially damaging for their reputation if customers complain about an order gone wrong.
I noticed that the contact email of the new company and the copyright mark for their website uses the name "totallyseeds" so presumably the company operates/operated under that name but chose "Chiltern Seeds" for their online sales.

That seems like sharp practice to me. Why don't they trade as "Totally seeds"?
