hi all

as the title says having lived here for about 6 years and apart from 2022 summer drought it’s been a green healthy plant but noticing lately it’s looking a bit sorry for itself. Guessing it’s at least 15 years old in the south east , sheltered spot with exposed sun above the garage and apart from
last week 1c at night it’s been wet and mild out.
Any ideas. Thanks

  • It may be showing signs of stress due to the extreme weather conditions we have had this year so far. It looks to me like a lack of water, my quince looks just like your euchryphia.
I have a young euchryphia, planted at the end of my garden 2 years ago, which has survived with no problems, unwatered or tended. It was planted on top of a heap of rotted-down turfs which may be what has helped it. It does not have the canopy of foliage yours has.
Keep your fingers crossed that your tree will recover and begin producing new foliage when the weather warms up. A lot of mature trees and shrubs are only now showing stress from the heat wave etc. by dropping their leaves early and generally looking unhappy.
