Horse chestnut leaf mould

    I would use it. Where there is no-one to compost the leaves, they rot down naturally and add to the soil around the trees. The moth problem is worse in some years than in others and I don't think the amount of leaves that one human can gather and turn into leaf mould is going to make much difference to that. In winter the leaves provide shelter for a lot of creatures and if I was able to gather all the leaves and burn them, those creatures would suffer because there would be nowhere to hunker down and keep warm and dry.
