Organic gardening with ivydene garden

Hello,

Has anyone any experience of the ivydene garden website please?

It looks like an interesting resource, but I am finding the website layout rather confusing.

Am I missing something?

  • And all the political and utterly irrelevant moaning allover it is so unintentionally funny

    🤣🤣🤣
What on earth led you to that site, @clematisdorset? And what on earth made you then give it the time of day?
It is quite funny though - I've not seen anything that bad in a long long time.

Goodness me that mess is in a format which was out of date at the turn of the millenium.
There’s another site which says the Ivydene GC is permanently closed. The last review is dated 2015

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • @amancalledgeorge yes and yes! I thought I was missing something, but the site just gets worse and worse the more one tries to find something. I had not even seen all the ranting to begin with. My eyes and brain just cannot deal with it!

Yes, very out of date indeed! I think it is Kent-based, seems to be someone with RHS qualifications, but more like a personal rant/blog/garden calendar mashup!

I think the Whitland Wales place is an unconnected, now closed garden centre, from what I can glean...my eyes hurt from trying to read anything on the Kent-based site!

  • @lg , I know what you mean, 🤣 ...I came across it through an internet search for specific named shrubs and again another time when looking for companion planting as an organic way of gardening...

...to be fair, I did find the shrubs that I was looking for, with illustrations etc and I did find some useful info on companion planting, but only because the search engine directed me to the precise part of the website. Once in the website, it is a crazy free-for-all with no index/contents page etc as far as I can tell!
