Is this big enough for a bee escape box?

I decided to open one of my bee hotels which has got screws to take the layers apart. From what I learned in the internet, this can be done from December/January onwards, and the bee cocoons should come into a box. OH bought this box yesterday which I can adjust to make it weatherproof. But the question is if the hole is big enough?

Many thanks in advance.

It's my understanding (and I admittedly don't know a lot about it) that the box should be stored somewhere cool and dry), like a shed, so doesn't need to be weatherproof. I'd be a little weary adding any products unless you could be certain they were bee safe.

With that said I think the hole looks big enough. You can measure the holes on your bee hotel and see if the biggest diameter would fit in and out but most bees tend to be small.

Many thanks @thevictorian I was thinking about hanging the box in late April to the fence where the bee hotels are. The box will be stored after taking out the cocoons in the shed where the bee hotels already are since last weekend.
I just wanted to make sure that the hole is big enough to come out.
