Been thinking about this for a while, I garden on my own. I can't be the only one who will make huge changes (to me) in the garden and then ask my husband what do you think? You watch them stare into the garden and they have no idea what difference you made, or if you say, Doesn't the XXXX look lovely? and, again more staring into the garden ...I guess to some people, green is green and plants are just that, plants!
I do all the gardening on my own. I love it that way. The garden is my escape, a place where I can get out of a busy house (3 teenagers) and have peace.
I think because I have gardened on my own for so many years, I am a nightmare about allowing anyone do anything in the garden. I "think" I know where every plant and bulb is planted, even if it is buried in weeds so am a nervous wreck if anyone tries to help with weeding etc. I still remember the pain of seeing my husband mow the whole top off a newly planted miniature fuschia I had just planted.
