I used to have one of these in my bedroom ,before bed, to warm the room up....no central heating either @Pete.8....
Mine was cream coloured🙄🙂
I had one of these paraffin heaters in my bedroom - it was disgusting. Constant fumes, and if I forgot to trim the wick my bedroom was full of smoke. On the plus side, it stopped the condensation freezing on the inside.
Those were the days! 🤣

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
When I was a lot younger I made the mistake of putting pelargoniums into an unheated greenhouse for the winter. They all died.
Greenhouses get condensation. They also need some ventilation. If your GH isn't heated then I would use it for hardier plants in winter, such as growing lettuces, keeping baby hardy perennials in until planting out in spring. It will be really useful in spring for bringing on plug plants and early sowings of sweet peas and broad beans etc.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks everyone.. I'm in my late 50s so not that young! I've been gardening (mainly vegetables.. took after my father) since my 20s but was never fortunate to have the space for a greenhouse, until now.. so lots to learn about them. With this garden however, due to a difficult hip, and although space for a greenhouse though not quite the space I need for veg, I decided to bring my veg growing days to a close, very very sadly, and go back to herbaceous borders. Anyhooo.. I may bring the geraniums indoors.. and leave some in the greenhouse and see how I get on.
I do remember having an old weavers cottage when I bought my first house at the tender age of 22 - no central heating, just a small logburner downstairs in the lounge for the whole house. We had no money back then so couldn't afford to have central heating and yup, ice on the inside of the bedroom windows. Next house we made sure came with CH! Game changer.
