New Alottment

Can someone please tell me if theses mounds of grass is couch grass.  I have dug up some and it doesn’t seem to have long roots underneath or am I missing something. 🍂🍁🌱🥒🥬🍐🍎 isn’t it beautiful couch grass and all! 😊 🫶🏼

    @Marisol Not possible to tell from your photo sorry. Carefully dig down and look for a running root that snaps easily. You should see rhizomes on the roots if it is couch. With tufted grass you should be able to dig it up and be confident you have all the root.

    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    It is beautiful. There is something glorious about allotments, glimpsed from a train or traversed during an afternoon walk.
