I agree @Joyce Goldenlily I watched GW yesterday and saw the good grape harvest down south, but as for apples and plums it really has been hit and miss. Plums were non existent this year, and only three and a half pounds of apples, whereas last year there were ten pounds.
No all our fruit and veg plants are in full sun. The plum and cherry trees produced nothing, but I did over prune as mentioned and the trees are still young. The plum tree was absolutely decimated by aphids, and fungus seems to have affected the majority of the plants too, but the leaves on the plum tree don't look at all well so I'm not sure if it's diseased. Several other plants have just failed to grow and one in particular seems to have died. They're all in the correct conditions and have been looked after. The garden has taken control of itself
One of the most common problems with plum trees is silver leaf caused by pruning at the wrong time of year. The leaves take on a silvery colour and eventually, it will kill the tree sadly.
I don't think that's the problem, it looks fungal. Wasn't going to prune any this year due to last year's mistake, but will certainly bear the correct timing in mind when I next do so thank you
I wouldn't worry about plum foliage looking a bit manky at this time of year. They've finished doing their job for the tree and are preparing to fall off...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
