Flopped hydrangea

Hello
This hydrangea flowered loads this summer, unlike last year but it has completely fallen over under its own weight. What should I do rectify and when?
The lawn under it has died but this is not a major concern.
Any advice very much appreciated.

Personally l would try and get some form of plant support to prop it up, maybe one of those hoop types.

I'm always loathe to cut off the flower heads at this time of year as they act as protection for next year's buds.

Thanks. I will do just that.

I agree plant supports may be the answer, especially if you’ve been having all the rain we’ve had here. Big flowers + water + gravity = disaster.

Another thing to consider is overfeeding. I tend not to feed my hydrangeas planted in open ground because in the past I’ve come a cropper, ending up with long, weak, spindly stems that keeled over.

I always leave mine,  I love it when they bloom right down to the ground.
