Can I plant spring bulbs in a wildflower area?

I want to put some wildflower seeds in a small area of my garden in the spring and Mow a little path through the area. Once it has grown, but I was thinking prior to that, maybe putting some spring bulbs in the area like crocuses and snow drops because they would’ve then died down by the time the meadow comes up, however, I’m wondering about tulips and daffodils would they be okay to grow in that area. I just thought the meadow would hide the dying leaves of the daffodils which are so messy or should they be completely separate area?

what sort of wildflower area? Wild flowers are just plants like any other

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • @nutcutlet @pansyface maybe going to be 9m long by 2wide. We were going to pick some seed appropriate for our garden. South facing but partly shady under trees so we haven’t decided yet.

The less highly-bred bulbs can look really good in a wild flower area.  Big blowsy tulips and double daffodils less so, in my opinion - but of course you can grow what you like.  Very short bulbs like crocuses might disappear in grass, and snowdrops have their own ideas about where they want to grow (they prefer shade, usually).  I have pheasant's eye narcissi, snake's head fritillary, camassia and summer snowflakes in my "meadow".
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • @Liriodendron thankyou. The flowers you’ve mentioned would look beautiful
